If you’re anything like me, music and sound spark a passion within you like no other, and you’ve spent countless hours obsessing over how someone produced a certain sound, trying to recreate the sound you imagine perfectly inside your own head, or geeking out over gear and plugins.

Melodiam Sound, while also an audio production company, will be a sound and music hub for all creators alike, to collectively geek out over sound, music, gear, production techniques, a little bit of philosophy here and there, and most of all, create a community for creators.

A brief self-introduction.

Just for a second, I will talk about myself… I am Kendyll (that’s me in that little photo up there), a music producer, singer-songwriter, musician, and artist based in Vancouver B.C. Canada. Growing up with a musical family and being surrounded by the music community from a young age sparked a love of the art form in all shapes it takes. After years of discovering more and more how much I truly loved music, whether that was through learning guitar and piano, singing, writing songs, dancing, or just listening obsessively to my favourite artists (as I think we all do really), I decided to pursue an education in audio production and sound design. As a student at the University of British Columbia, it took me a couple of years to realize true passion trumps the pursuit of something you dislike just for financial success, so through the Interdisciplinary Department, I was able to still pursue my desire to receive a degree in audio production & sound design without all my hard-earned credits from the institution going to waste. In 2024, I also spent the summer in Berlin, Germany attending Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts & Technology for a summer course on mixing and mastering electronic music, that ultimately opened my eyes to so many possibilities in music and I met so many wonderful creators there. Alright, those are my little educational credentials, but what really matters is I have a passion for the creation and collaboration between musical artists and I want Melodiam to truly be a place where creators can come in and be confident that their artistic vision is being supported and will be made a reality.

Little philosophical rant.

The energy of sound is all around us. The waves constantly flowing through space and time. I once heard someone say that music is our special way of decorating time. The music of the universe (or the “Universal Sound” as Tyler Childers puts it) is the world’s greatest orchestra, and every being is a part of that orchestra. More on that subject down the road, as I could write a book on that topic if I kept ranting.

If you want to stick around and follow along on Melodiam’s start-up journey, subscribe so my little email list. I promise, wholeheartedly, that Melodiam will never spam your inbox with crappy promotion emails!

Great introduction to yourself Kendyll. I wasnt aware of all your training here and in Germany. I can see the passion for music in your smile whenever I bring it up. Good luck in your project! Can’t wait to hear some music.
